Precision CNC Turned Parts — From Prototypes to High-Volume Production

CNC turning is the most efficient process for precision rotational components — shafts, bushings, pins, flanges, valve bodies, hydraulic fittings, and impellers. Robocon CNC operates dedicated CNC turning centres and turn-mill machines at our Pune facility, handling materials from free-cutting brass to Inconel 718 across diameters from 3 mm to 300 mm.

Our turn-mill centres add live rotary tooling to the lathe — enabling cross-holes, flats, keyways, off-centre features, and complex profiles to be machined in a single setup. This eliminates the re-fixturing that causes concentricity errors and datum shift when moving between a lathe and a mill. For complex turned components, this means better quality and shorter lead time in the same operation.

Every turned part is CMM inspected against all critical dimensions — diameter, concentricity, perpendicularity, thread pitch, and surface finish (Ra measured). Material traceability certificates, CMM inspection reports, and dimensional reports are supplied with every shipment as standard.

Outer diameter (OD) and inner diameter (ID) turning, facing, boring, threading, grooving, and parting. Diameter range 3 mm to 300 mm. Length up to 800 mm. Tight concentricity and runout control on multi-diameter shafts.

⚙️

Turn-Mill — Live Tooling

Milling, drilling, tapping, and slotting performed on the same machine as turning — using live rotary tooling. Cross-holes, flats, hexagons, keyways, off-centre bores, and radial features machined in one setup without re-fixturing.

📏

Thread Turning & Grinding

External and internal thread turning (metric, UNC, UNF, BSW, BSP, ACME, Tr, NPT, BSPT) using single-point threading tools for precise form. Cylindrical grinding on bearing journals and close-tolerance mating surfaces to h5/h6 class.

🏭

Bar Fed High Volume

Automatic bar feeders for continuous production runs — pins, bushings, fittings, and standard turned components produced in high volume with consistent quality and automatic tool offset compensation across long runs.

🔬

Prototype Turning

Single-piece and small-batch prototype turning in 5–7 days. CMM inspection and material certificates on every prototype run regardless of quantity. DFM feedback included in every prototype quote at no charge.

📐

CMM Inspection & Reports

FAQ — CNC Turned Parts

CNC turned parts are precision components manufactured on CNC lathes and turn-mill centres, where the workpiece rotates while cutting tools remove material to create cylindrical, tapered, or complex rotational shapes. Common turned parts include shafts, bushings, pins, valve bodies, fittings, bearing housings, and impellers.

CNC turning produces cylindrical and tapered features by rotating the workpiece against a fixed cutting tool. Turn-mill centres add live rotary tooling — milling cutters, drills, and taps — to the lathe. This allows cross-holes, flats, keyways, and off-centre features to be machined in the same setup without re-fixturing, eliminating concentricity errors and reducing lead time on complex turned components.

Our standard CNC turning tolerance is ±0.01 mm. For precision applications we achieve ±0.005 mm on critical diameters and features. Ground journal surfaces are achievable to h5 or h6 tolerance class for bearing-fit diameters. All critical dimensions are CMM verified with full dimensional inspection reports provided.

No minimum order quantity. We machine single-piece prototypes through to high-volume production runs of 10,000+ parts. Bar-fed CNC turning centres significantly reduce per-piece cost on volume orders of simple turned parts from 50 pieces upward.

We machine aluminum (6061, 7075, 6082), stainless steel (303, 304, 316L), mild steel, EN8, EN24, 4140 alloy steel, brass, copper, titanium Grade 5, Inconel 625/718, and engineering plastics including Delrin, Nylon, PTFE, and PEEK. SS303 is specifically recommended for complex turned parts as it machines most freely of all stainless grades.

Yes. We export precision CNC turned parts to customers in the USA (3–5 days), Germany (4–7 days), UK (4–7 days), Netherlands (4–7 days), Sweden (4–7 days), Australia (7–10 days), Israel, Turkey, France, and worldwide. Full export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, HS codes — is prepared from our end.
